Riverton Wastewater Treatment Facility

Riverton operates and maintains an advanced “sequence batch reactor” wastewater treatment facility. Our current facility was built in 1999 and went into use in early 2000. We currently treat approximately 175,000 gallons each day under strict regulations from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

The facility has various stages of treatment including sedimentation, biological nutrient removal and ultraviolet light disinfection.

It is extremely important that residents NOT put paint, oil and chemicals down their drains. These chemicals destroy the microorganisms needed for the biological treatment process.

Guidelines to protect Riverton’s creek, river & water supply, please download our brochure HERE.
